The QQ Solutions Story
QQ Solutions was formed when Mark Malis, while still attending college,
developed an agency management system for his father Gerry’s auto insurance
agency. The product was so good that Gerry sold it and Mark supported it while
he was still in school. At that time, Gerry also co-owned a software company
called AutoRate that sold a comparative auto insurance rater for the state of
Florida.
When Mark graduated, he convinced his father that there was a major need for a
comparative auto insurance rater that would aggressively target and address the
demanding needs of the agents. This was a critical need, which AutoRate was not
addressing. Mark then wrote QuickQuote, Gerry sold his shares in AutoRate, and
within the year, QuickQuote was the number one comparative auto insurance rater
in the state of Florida.
Later, both QuickQuote and QuickFile were transitioned from DOS to Windows and
even more advanced features were added. QuickFile gained QuickBooks integration
and scanning, while QuickQuote added bridging and binding.
Gerry Malis retired in 2003 to spend more time with his wife Elaine and to try to
break 100 in golf.
Today, QQ Solutions maintains its position as the leading provider of comparative auto insurance rating
and agency management solutions in Florida and also enjoys a large market presence in Texas and Georgia.
In addition, QQ Solutions' agency management systems are used in thousands of agencies in all fifty states.
